In this video I will restore 300 year old corner cabinet and I discover many
unusual things along the way. This cabinet had two layers of paint. The first, original one had multicolor solution. The second one was from the 19 century, painted as faux wood, that was popular at this time. After consulting with two other restorers, we decided that, the right thing would be to restore the latest version. Because iboth layers have now historical value and if I would strip the top layer, I probably would strip most of the old paint along the way. Then I need to repaint it, but it will not be old then. It is possible to clean only the top paint, but it will be very expensive solution.
